Today, famous “LIKE” button got some new friends. New emoji reactions are maybe one of the biggest changes that Facebook made in some time.
For long time users were asking for a dislike button to express a reaction to a bad news or something they don't like, but the Facebook insiders were worried that the dislike button might be used in negative ways.
Instead of long-wanted dislike button Facebook decided to go with 6 different reactions with whichyou can express: “Love”, “Haha”,“Wow”, “Sad” and “Angry”. Each one of reactions comes with appropriate emoji, so for example if u see funny photo, now you can put an emoji that dies out of laugh next to it.
According to Bloomberg, the reactions were picked by team of sociologists. They selected images that carefully express certain emotions, and they choose the six emoji that are worldwide recognized.
The Reactions can be used by long press over the bottom of a post on mobile (or hovering over it with your mouse on a desktop browser), a panel with six emoji options will pop up and u can click on the one u find appropriate.
We don’t know whether the customers will now forget "likes" and require "wow's", but we are sure that community managers will have a little more work than before.
